Only get to attending this Friday, because there is too much other stuff going on this weekend.  I haven't been here for a while, I know.

The last two weeks I spent with earth, Wind, and Fire. Oh, not the singing group, the elements. We drove through Virginia during the earthquake, to get to a friend's place in North Carolina. That is where we were in the path of Irene for the big wind. On the way home I wanted to stop at the Great Dismal Swamp in Virginia. Turns out they were having ground fires in the peat that makes up most of the forest floor. It is reportedly up to 10 feet deep in some places. Because of that, we couldn't get into the forest, but got of a couple of shots of the trees. I will be posting photos from this element tour in the coming days, and hopefully some of the Pow Wow sometime next week.
